Songs of Mama Shamana
“Mama Shamana kisses a bird and it starts to sing. She kisses the wind and it loses its will. One of her kisses can turn a planet into a black hole, a star into a planet, a ship into sand, and dust into Northern Lights.
She kisses her son goodnight and quietly closes the door.“
The first book of the Mama Shamana trilogy. Starting as a crowdfunded project, it went through several re-releases and three different covers. The book has also been translated into French by Boarealia
In it you will find 60 folk tales about Mama Shamana, but you will not find a single clue about who she is.
No one knows whether she is a human or a beast, one or all the women of the world. And she herself, most likely, never thought about it. She has a very busy schedule: either a star will fall into a well, or the world will not have time to appear before she wakes up, or the windy season will change all plans.
Mama Shamana spills salt
“Mama Shamana has nine sisters. She saw the first one even before birth, the second one – only once and only halfway. The third one plays the jaw harp better than she ties shoelaces, the fourth and fifth are so alike that sometimes they switch lives without even noticing it. The sixth one doesn’t remember her name but never forgets a single face. The seventh one follows the eighth like the moon follows the sun, but always remains in the shadow. The eighth one distorts stories and gives good for evil, so that rye fields grow with swans, and barns are filled with pearls. The ninth one has not yet been born, but already breathes down the neck of the first one.
She saw the first one even before birth.”
The third book of Mama Shamana trilogy is about mermaids and silver keys, dreams and unruly hair, about a son who has grown up overnight and lighthouses that shine only for their captains. The book is decorated with delicate watercolor illustrations of Ukranian artist Anastasia Telegina.
The book will be an excellent gift for a woman of any age.
Cookbook of Mama Shamana
The second book in the Mama Shamana trilogy. Consists of 80 pages, 16 brand new fairy tales and 16 recipes, each of which fits its story like a button to its loop. The illustrations for the book were drawn by Anastasia Stepanova, and the recipes were drawn by the author herself. The book also has a table of measures and weights so that you do not get confused in grams, glasses and milliliters.
The recipes for the book are collected from all over the world, but most of them, of course, were told by my mother. There are also Georgian, and American, and Indian, and generally taken from nowhere, but loved and prepared many times dishes.
On each page, you can find some funny little thing like joyful gingerbread or dissatisfied frozen dough.
Monsters only No entry
A collection of stories about four little monster-girls who live in Mirkwood on the edge of the sea and forest.
Reding the stories you will find many curious characters such as the proud woodcutter Michael, in whose hallway a basilisk settled, the flower girl Clotilde, whose garden gnomes now and then arrange illegal parties in the garden, a hedgehog at the entrance to the Museum of Silence and many other creatures.
Some of the stories will make you laugh, and some will make you think about what it means to be able to let go, how to look at death from a different angle and how to overcome the fear of the dark.
Book for children from 5 years old. The book is a great gift for children with a lively mind and out-of-the-box thinking.
